David has always been associated with the Stratocaster and there have always been two – black and red. His main guitar for over two decades, the red defined post-Waters era and holds a special place in the hearts of many fans. It is also an interesting guitar in terms of the history of Fender.

Just before 1984 the next David circuit face him and Phil Taylor went to London Entrep t Fender branch and a bunch of new strategy games because David did not want to travel with old instruments commen have to increase in value (International Musician Ao t 1984). Different sources say different numbers, but it seems they bought about six guitars. These included a 1983 ’62 reissue fiesta red with white pickguard and a rosewood fretboard, two cream-colored 1983 ’57 reissue with a maple neck and white pickguard (Vintage White ranked in the catalog) and a pair of Candy Apple Red ’57 1983 editions with white pickguard and maple neck. They also managed to get their hands on extra red apple in a thrift shop in Chandlers, UK. The david gilmour guitar rack¬†guitar was once owned by Mick Ralphs, who played rhythm guitar on the 1984 David circuit faces (guitarist 1995). It is interesting to note however, that Red 57s Has never been used on the About Face tour, just the ’62 and ’57 cream.
